Tervetuloa Sanremoon!

Satuinpa vilkaisemaan internet-sivujanne. Kilpailukalenterinne uusi viimeinen rivi ilahdutti minua tietysti erityisesti. Tervetuloa vain tänne Sanremoon. Taidammepa käydä vaimoni kanssa teitä varikkopilttuussanne morjestamassa, jos se ei teitä ihan kauheasti häiritse. Yritämme valita mahdollisimman rauhallisen hetken. Ja San Romolossa olemme teitä kannustamassa reitin varrella takuuvarmasti.

Järjestäjän sivuilla ei ainakaan tänään vielä ollut lähtöluetteloa, joten muista osallistujista en virallisesti tiedä mitään. Arvelisin kuitenkin, että ainakin moninkeratinen Sanremon kävijä Gianfranco Basso on mukana. Viime aikoinahan olette olleet häneen nähden edellisissä ralleissa melkeinpä aina vähän nopeampia. Jos olette sitä myös täällä, niin voin vakuuttaa, että olette tulosluettelossa tosi korkealla. Basso menee täällä nimittäin uskomattoman kovaa.

Varmasti teillä on tästä rallista jo tietty ennakkokäsitys. Erikoiskokeiden tiet ovat pinnaltaan kohtalaisen hyviä, ainakin suurimmaksi osaksi. Tietysti ne ovat myos hyvin mutkaisia ja tosi kapeita, virheisiin ei useimmissa paikoissa ole varaa. Olette kuitenkin pärjänneet aika hyvin asfaltilla tänä vuonna ja vauhtia teillä kyllä riittää. Oma, maltillinen, varma ajo tuottaa uskoakseni ihan hyvän tuloksen. Useimmilla pätkillä on varmasti myös aikamoinen määrä pudonneita syksyn lehtiä ja neulasia, ne ovat ikävän liukkaita. En myöskään tiedä, millaisia erikoiskokeita ajetaan tänä vuonna pimeässä illalla. Ainakin parina edellisvuonna täällä on ollut "ylipitkä" pimeassä ajettava EK. Viime vuonna sen pituus taisi olla yli 60 km! Siellä tuli tietysti uskomattomia eroja. Ei siis ihan helppoa ole tuolta osin odotettavissa. Kyllä noissa olosuhteissa useamman kerran ajaneilla on siitä kyllä melkoinen etu. Ja toivottavasti ei iltapätkillä ainakaan sada vettä!

First of all let me introduce myself: I am a Spanish Rally fan. I have always enjoyed with your spectacular driving style since 2002 when you drove the Seat Ibiza. Since then I have followed you in FInland and abroad. I wish you all the best with the Fabia S200 in the IRC this year. I wish you the best both in Italy and UK.
Due my impossibility to ask for it personally, I would be very grateful if you could please send me a dedicated autographcard of your Skoda Fabia or older cars.
