For Juho Hänninen the climb towards the top of the rallying has begun in an idyllic place in Vaara in Punkaharju, Finland. Hänninen’s father was an enthusiastic and successful rally driver in his youth and he was the one who inspired Hänninen behind the wheel for the first time. Hänninen was only 15 when his rallying career begun, first by racing in the everyman’s class and swiftly proceeding to Young Drivers sprints with Skoda within a year. In the sprint tracks Hänninen was a common sight with the VW Golf. In 1999 Hänninen drove his first rally with the same VW Golf. Since then, he has been uplifting the road dust behind the wheels of Volvo, Seat, Honda as well as Mitsubishi.
